ONE of the biggest agricultural shows in the Dales is looking for help to organise the increasingly popular annual event.
Secretaries Sandy Carter and Helen Barden are busy organising the 2020 Wensleydale Show which is being held on Bank Holiday Saturday August 29, and they are desperate for a third secretary to join them.
Helen Cuming, who was secretary for a number of years, has moved on to do other things, leaving a gap in the team. Preparations are well underway but they say an extra pair of hands is needed to ensure the 106th show is as successful as past events.
Sandy said: "It’s a great team that puts the show together each year. It can be hard work but we have a lot of fun." Helen added: "It is a real sense of achievement looking out across the show ground on Show Day and seeing lots of people enjoying a traditional family day out."
The show held at Leyburn has an extensive range of livestock events including sheep, cattle, horses and poultry, alongside
horticultural and handicraft classes as well as displays of vintage tractors, craft and tradestands. Contact secretary@wensleydaleshow.org.uk.
