A 17-YEAR-old boy has been arrested in connection with the alleged stabbing of another teenager in Seaton Carew, near Hartlepool.

It happened at about 5.30pm on Friday. 

Police say the victim, who is 16, had been playing in a football game at The Sports Domes on Tees Road.

After a verbal alternation, the boy was chased out of The Sports Domes by a group of males and was assaulted.

Police say they do not know what implement was used to inflict the wound.

The boy received treatment for his injury at Hartlepool Urgent Care.

His injuries are not life threatening. 

The 17-year-old boy remains in police custody at this time.
