THE Darlington Music Society's next concert will be on Saturday, February 8, at the Dolphin Centre at 7.30pm.
The concert is going to be given by the Pelleas Ensemble, which comprises Luba Tunnicliffe (viola), Henry Roberts (flute) and Oliver Wass (harp). They will be playing pieces by Prokofiev, Ravel, Bax, Andy Scott and Couperin.
The Pelleas Ensemble was formed at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2011. They recently won the Royal Philharmonic Society's Henderson Chamber Ensemble Award and in 2017, they won the Elias Fawcett Award for Outstanding Chamber Ensemble at the Royal Overseas League competition.
Their Wigmore Hall debut was praised for its 'captivating vitality' and 'effortlessness and delicacy'. Luba Tunnucliffe (Viola) has performed for the Darlington Music Society in January 2018 giving an excellent concert!
They will be making a special appearance at the Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College on the afternooon of Friday, February 7. The Pelleas Ensemble will be staging a concert especially themed for the students with demonstrations and interactive exchanges. The student will then be able to attend the Saturday concert with an adult free for them both.
Tickets for the concert are £15 from the Dolphin Centre beforehand or at the door or from Mr R Tooze, 66 The Headlands, Darlington, DL3 8RZ or call 01325 467163..
