A TEESDALE comedy promoter is celebrating ten years with a new season of shows in Barnard Castle.

Funny Way To Be Comedy's new schedule at The Witham runs until June, and comprises six evenings of comedy, featuring several household names.

Gary Delaney is Britain’s leading one-liner comic and returns on Saturday, February 15, with his critically-acclaimed show Gagster’s Paradise. He is a Mock The Week regular and star of the last Live At The Apollo series.

Musical comedy sisters Flo & Joan have a new show of their dark and waggish songs. As part of a UK tour, they are heading to Barnard Castle on Tuesday, February 18. The duo shot to fame when they wrote and starred in a series of adverts for Nationwide Building Society, with their video Sisters being rated YouTube’s most popular advert in January 2018.

Lou Sanders is one of the most original comedians in Britain. An acclaimed stand-up, her last Edinburgh show received rave reviews. Lou has appeared on TV shows most notably on the last series of Dave’s Taskmaster where she was crowned champion. Lou’s new show, Say Hello to Your New Step-Mummy, is on Friday, March 6.

The comedy duo, The Thinking Drinkers, return with a new show, which is a look at history’s greatest drinkers, at which the audience will get five free drinks. As alcoholic drinks will be served, this show is for 18 and over. The award-winning experts reveal how alcohol has inspired pioneering explorers, politicians and painters in equal measure, from Plato and Picasso, to Nelson, Napoleon and Norm from Cheers.

After three hugely successful BBC series as Lee Nelson, multiple sell-out tours and various court appearances following world-famous stunts on Theresa May, Sepp Blatter, Donald Trump, Kanye West and Britain’s Got Talent, the award-winning, critically acclaimed comedian will be on stage as himself.

For the first time, Simon Brodkin leaves his characters in the dressing room and takes to the stage, in Barnard Castle on Thursday, April 9, in his new show, “100% Simon Brodkin”.

Cannon & Ball, the UK’s longest performing comedy duo, are returning on Saturday, June 6, with their legendary sketches, songs, storytelling and audience question-and-answer session.

Funny Way To Be promoter Peter Dixon said: “This season completes our tenth year bringing comedy shows to Teesdale. Right from the start, our idea was to programme something for everyone, and this season we have managed to do that by booking a wide range of comedians that are each at the top of their field.”

Tickets for all shows are available now from funnywaytobe.com or the Witham Box Office on 01833 631107.
