A MAN was left shaken after he was robbed for just 50p.

Durham police are now investigating the incident which took place on Saturday, December 7, at around 2.45am on Flass Street, Durham.

The male suspect– described as wearing a dark hoodie and a bandana or something similar covering his face– approached the victim from behind and made demands for cash.

He made off in an unknown direction with 50p, which was all the victim had on him at the time.

Det Con Laura Douglas, of Durham CID, said: “The suspect may have taken only a small amount, but the incident has left the victim understandably shaken. I urge anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or who has any information about it, to get in touch as soon as possible.”
