TWO people died in a crash involving a Mercedes-Benz and a heavy goods vehicle during rush hour on the A59 yesterday morning.
North Yorkshire police are appealing for witnesses or any drivers with dashcam footage to come forward after the crash involving a grey Mercedes Benz and a white Scania HGV which happened between Goldsborough and Flaxby on the A59 around 8.30am.
Two people in the Mercedes were pronounced dead at the scene. Traffic officers have asked that anyone who saw the car travelling between the A1M junction and Goldsborough towards Harrogate to contact them.
The road was closed for most of the day while forensic officers carried out investigations into how the crash happened.
