GUISBOROUGH Theatre Company's comedy play, Lathered Up continues tonight and tomorrow at the St Nicholas Church Hall, Bow Street, at 7.30pm.

In the play by Lyn Brittney, Magenta Place, a prime-time TV soap, is in trouble. Ratings have fallen like a stone and the writers can’t come up with any new plots. Natalie Thorpe (Sarah Baker), leading lady of a rival soap, Grover’s Avenue, and The World’s Most Famous Northern Woman, offers the soap some advice. Production consultant, Sasha, played by Julie Todd, turns out to be an eccentric genius, whose drastic actions turn around the fortunes of the failing soaps and a whole load of devious and dirty tricks – not to mention the exposure of Natalie Thorpe’s long held secret! But is all as it seems?

Other roles include Peter, the lead actor in Magenta Place, played by Roger Moore, and Meryl, the lead actress in Magenta Place, by Alison Whitehead, Stan, the executive producer, by Ralph Booth, Dennis, a script writer, by Jacob Ditchburn, Lola, a script writer, by Jayne Kempen and Beryl, Natalie’s PA, by Christine Harrington.
