A BEAUTICIAN is offering free make-up masterclasses for those who are suffering with cancer.

Becky Voss, who owns Becky's Beauty Box in Darlington, will be running the monthly sessions with the first class to be held on November 20 at 10.30am.

The mother-of-three, who fundraises for cancer charities in her spare time, decided to set up the free classes to build a community space for those who are fighting similar battles.

She said: "My sister-in-law passed away from cancer about two years ago, so it's a cause that is quite close to my heart.

"Cancer patients aren't able to have the usual traditional treatments like brow tinting or microblading and if they are going through treatment that can also cause them to lose their hair.

"Some people can become quite self-concious about the side-effects of treatment so the class is aimed at boosting confidence and teaching techniques like how to do their brows when they have perhaps lost their own.

"It's also a way for them to meet people who are in a similar situation to what they are in. Cancer is definitely something that everyone is affected by so I wanted to be able to give people that feel-good factor."
