CELEBRITY fashion designer, Kate Fearnley, of Stokesley, has won yet another award to add to her collection.

Last week, she attended the North of England Wedding Awards in York, which recognises businesses that provide an outstanding level of customer service, above and beyond client expectation. Kate won her award in the Bridal and Occasionwear category.

Kate has been designing award-winning dresses from her Middlesbrough boutique for the past 17 years, and each dress she designs is made to measure and uniquely designed for each customer.

Early in her career, she developed her own style of bold blends of colour and fabric in designs inspired by 1950's Hollywood and its glamorous leading ladies.

Within ten years of setting up on her own, she had achieved her major aims, was regularly flying to Paris to choose fabrics, designing and stocking for more than 100 boutiques across the UK, Ireland and in Dubai, and dressing celebrities such as Michelle Keegan, Katie Price and Girls Aloud. She has won many awards during her career.

Commenting on one of the services her and her team provide, she said:

“Choosing a wedding dress is one of the biggest decisions in a client’s life, so we aim to take away any worries, anxiety, and make the experience an enjoyable one.

"Our brides get a personal one-to-one service with every visit, from the drawing up of design stage until they leave with the finished dress.”

She was delighted to receive the award because it is judged on the feedback from customers, and after the announcement, the team were given access to the comments that had helped her win the award.

"Not only are we extremely proud and grateful,” she said, “we are pretty emotional about the wonderful comments. It’s a great feeling to know that we are giving our clients a special and memorable experience. Having happy customers is so very important to us.”
