A COUPLE who met at a Teesside youth club have celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Geoff and Elizabeth Allison, who now live in their permanent home of Costa Blanca, Spain, marked their diamond anniversary on September 12.
The pair first met at Billingham Co-op Youth Club in 1957, where Elizabeth asked Geoff for a ride on his new BSA motorcycle.
From there, the couple travelled together across the UK before getting married at Norton Parish Church in September 1959.
In June 2007, they sold their family home in Billingham and moved to their villa in the Spanish village of Pinar de Campoverde.
Mr and Mrs Allison have four children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and are still counting.
Mr Allison said: "We have during the past 60 years shared many interests, golf, fishing, cycling, walking and popular music.
"Betty spends a lot of her relaxation time knitting and stuffing dolls and animals for her chosen charities. I am an avid gardener - not easy in Spain.
"We feel very blessed to have achieved this special milestone."
