ARE you sitting comfortably? Well, we’ll soon change that!

Join us at Bolton Castle for a spooky evening of spine-tingling stories to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve.

If you think you have the stomach to hear about the ghastly goings-on at the castle over the years, then book your Halloween place with the other brave souls.

Choose your date for a chilling evening of Ghostly Tales, from Saturday, October 26 to Thursday 31*, 6pm to 10pm - when the sun is well below the yard arm and who-knows-what roams the corridors of the historic 14th-century castle.

With plenty of skeletons in the cupboard, this is a unique evening to discover the ghosts of Bolton Castle, and how their dreadful stories have contributed to the rich history of the area.

You’ll be fortified with a delicious, two-course, medieval meal, washed down with mulled wine, in the Great Chamber - dining by candlelight in true medieval style, at the long table.

Staff will be in full medieval costume, and you will be escorted around the castle (avoiding the cobwebs) as the terrifying tales and the history of the castle unfold.

Bolton Castle General Manager says: “Following the success of our first Hallowe’en event last year, we are very excited to be presenting this unique, spooktakular evening. We are sure that our guests will have a thrilling time”

Bolton Castle has been owned by the same family since it was built in 1399, and is preserved in outstanding condition with many interesting rooms and features to discover, including the old kitchens, dungeon, solar, nursery, armoury, Great Chamber and Mary Queen of Scots’ bedroom. It is open to the public from April 1 to November 2, and offers tours, a tearoom, birds of prey displays, archery demonstrations and wild boar feeding. It is also a beautiful backdrop for weddings and private events.
