A RICHMOND couple celebrate the opening of their new health clinic tomorrow with a launch event.

Helen and Dean McQue are both licensed acupuncturists and practitioners in Traditional Chinese Medicine with 11 years experience between them. They have steadily built up their clientele from shared premises in Finkle Street, specialising in women's health and musculoskeletal pain.

Tomorrow they open their new McQue Health and Acupuncture Suite at 20 Trinity Church Square, Richmond, from 10am to 4pm, when visitors can find out how complementary therapies may help them.

The couple, who both had long standing careers before turning to acupuncture, have long dreamed of opening their own clinic.

Helen, formerly a chef, retrained after her daughters left home for university. Dean is a former personal trainer, which he did along side his 30 year career in the fire service. His observations of stress and trauma through his job, combined with his fitness experience, eventually led him to acupuncture. He said: “It’s important that our practice is driven by kindness, understanding and a genuine desire to help others”.

The couple also run an acupuncture clinic in the Nepalese mountains and go there every other year.
