MORE than 250 people turned out at the weekend for the Middleton Hall Retirement Village’s village show.

Entries in over 36 competition classes were on show with a total of 206 entries, showcasing a wide range of skills and activities including fruit and vegetable growing, arts and crafts, cookery and children’s categories.

Residents from across the retirement village, their families, the Hall’s staff and the neighbouring Middleton St George community got involved in the different categories.

The much-anticipated Best in Show award went to Ninette Mate who lives in Middleton Grove at the Hall for her ‘Tea for Two’ entry in the flower arrangement class which the judges said was “a lovely idea”.

Entertainment for the event included performances by the Texas Toe Tappers, Richmond Castle Clog dancers, and the Middleton Hall singing group.

Michael Hodgson, healthy living training manager, said: “The show went really well and it was even busier than last year."
