AN unusual band will be touring in Swaledale later this month.

The 3hattrio play what they describe as ‘American Desert Music’ inspired by the natural world of their homeland near Zion National Park in Utah, producing evocative music and richly-burnished vocals that can raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

Hal Cannon sings lead vocals and plays banjo and guitar. Youngest band member Eli Wrankle, combines playing fiddle with studying music at Southern Utah University. Reg Istock sings and plays the stand-up bass and foot percussion and sings, having previously spent 30 years exploring Caribbean music.

The concert is in Reeth Memorial Hall on Thursday, August 29. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Ticket are £13 in advance, £15 on the door, under-16s half price, on sale at Reeth Post Office or call John Little on 01748 884759.
