THE six-concert series of performances by top professional classical musicians begins on Saturday, September 28, when the Doric String Quartet performs quartets by Haydn and Britten and Schubert's Death and the Maiden.

In October, Royal Northern Sinfonia fields a full team for an ambitious programme of Strauss, Wagner and Mahler's mighty First Symphony, The Titan. The six-concert season from Richmondshire Concerts continues until March 2020, finishing with the Carice Singers on March 18.

Society chairman Nick Reckert said: "Once again we saw record audiences last year – our 71st season. We're lucky to have the best classical music venue in the area and to get so many regular visitors from all over North Yorkshire and the North-East."

Full programme details for the concerts which are performed at 7.30pm at the Influence Church, Victoria Road, Richmond DL10 4AS, are at www.rsconcerts.org. Season tickets (£48 for six concerts) and single tickets (£16-£20) may be bought online or at Castle Hill Bookshop in Richmond.
