REDCAR’S vibrant Steel Gala returns this year for a day of celebrations and traditional entertainment in Dormanstown.
The Gala will take place on Sunday August 18 at the Corus Club and will run from 10am until 5pm.
The event is in celebration of Redcar’s steel heritage and has received funding from the Great Place Tees Valley project.
Throughout the day there will be an open workshop called “Put the Flags Out” aimed at local families, and will give them the chance to make something of their own for the parade.
Ladies of Steel founder Debbie Powlay said: “The workshop is a fantastic way to get involved with the gala celebrations and help people have a starring role in the parade!
“It’s also great for families who want to do something creative together during the holidays and take part in the parade celebrations.”
The Ladies of Steel have been voluntarily running the event for the past 11 years.
The parade will take place on August 18 at 11am.
