A RARE opportunity to go behind the scenes of a firm which modifies Land Rover Defenders will take place on Saturday, July 27.

Members of the public are being invited to see Twisted Automotive's workshop in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

The firm, which purchased the final batch of Land Rover Defenders to come off the Jaguar Land Rover production line in 2016, rebuilt the vehicles to include customisation to buyers taste.#

Charles Fawcett, managing director at Twisted Automotive, said: “Every year we look forward to hosting an open day for customers, fans and local residents and we’re particularly excited this year due to the momentous ‘Remake History’ collection which will be a dream to view for Defender enthusiasts.

“We relish this opportunity to bring local communities together, providing a wonderful day out for all the family while celebrating automotive excellence.

"Last year was our highest attendance yet and we would love to welcome faces old and new to make this the biggest and best open day yet.”

A recently completed vehicle that was originally designed as a military vehicle for the British Army between 1968 and 1984 will be displayed.

The gates at Twisted Automotive's head office and workshop will open at 10am until 4am.

The event is free to attend, and no booking is necessary.

Food and drink will be available on site, while a DJ will play music from the boot of his own Land Rover Defender throughout the day.
