CLASSICAL guitar virtuoso Giulio Tampalini returns to East Cleveland in June.

Over the past decade, Tampalini has built up a remarkable following for his annual visits. This is his twelfth visit in 16 years.

Currently Professor of Guitars at the Adria Conservatory of Music near Venice, Italy. He is regularly invited to give master-classes all over Europe. He plays guitars made by the English guitar maker Philip Woodfield.

He has been hailed internationally as one of the most popular and charismatic classical guitarists, and as such he tours regularly and extensively across Europe and the USA and he has played more than 2,000 concerts all over the world

He has recorded more than 25 CDs. His double CD Francisco Tarrega: Complete Works for Guitar was awarded the Golden Guitar at the International Guitar Meeting in Alessandria as “Best CD of the year”.

"We are always thrilled that an international musician of Tampalini's standing is willing to perform in our little market town in North Yorkshire," said Peter Sotheran, who organises the Classical Cleveland concerts at Stokesley Methodist Church.

Tampalini's programme features a new selection of works by Bach, Rodrigo, Tarrega, Tedesco, Paganini and de Falla. The concert takes place on Thursday, June 27, at 7.30pm at Stokesley Methodist Church. Full details are online at classical-cleveland.
