WORKERS at a pork pie producer have chosen to support an independent disability-friendly charity.

Based in Leeming Bar, near Northallerton, staff at Vale of Mowbray have chosen to sponsor the Parents and Carers of Special Children group (POSCH) to assist with their every-day charity work.

The charity, which works with parents and carers across Hambleton and Richmondshire, has received help in the form of storage, specialist marketing skills, event support, raffle prizes and donations of refreshments.

Richard Hodgeson of Vale of Mowbray said: "We are looking to build a meaningful relationship with POSCH and will be actively encouraging all members of our workforce to participate in fundraising activities for this important cause – on top of that we are offering a number of services to help the charity operate with ease from providing vital storage space to knowledge and expertise where needed.”

The partnership between the pie maker and the charity was established a month ago,

Andrea Hobbs of POSCH said “Vale of Mowbray have been extremely welcoming and accommodating.

"Funding is one of the main challenges facing every single charity and POSCH has no staff or office support to help us to achieve our day to day needs.

"The kind of sponsorship offered by the Vale of Mowbray is invaluable and goes way beyond the money that their team will raise on our behalf."
