ONE person needed treatment after a fire started in a seafront house in the early hours.
Fire crews rushed to Marine Parade in Brighton after reports of a blaze in a second floor bedroom.
A witness said they saw four fire engines on the scene as well as an ambulance.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue service spokesman said: “At 2:51am this morning firefighters from Roedean and Brighton attended a residential property in Marine Parade, Brighton following reports of a fire.
“The fire had started in a second floor bedroom.
“Crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
“One resident was handed over in to the care of the South East Coast Ambulance Service after suffering from smoke inhalation.
“A fire investigation took place and the cause was accidental.”
The person was taken to hospital.
A SECAMB spokesman said: “One ambulance crew attended the scene and one patient, suffering from smoke inhalation, was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital.”
