MORE than 2,500 competitors battled hard for victory when they took to the river for the annual Richmond Duck Club race.
The fun charity event sees the plastic ducks tipped into the River Swale from the Green Bridge before heading over the waterfalls to the finishing line at the Batts near the Station Bridge.
While crowds gathered to cheer on their favourite bright-yellow entrants as they go with the flow through to the finishing line.
The Club was created to raise funds to support the town's young people – whether that's towards a set of sports shirts for a local youth team; equipment for special needs students; or the trophies awarded to the young sportsperson of the year.
Money is raised through ticket sales and prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place as well as the last duck home.
