A STATELY home gardens will be open to the public to host a three day tulip festival this weekend.
Constable Burton Hall Gardens Tulip Festival runs from Saturday, May 4 to Monday, May 6 in conjunction with Bloms Bulbs, winner of 67 Chelsea Gold Medals.
More than 6,500 tulip are planted throughout the borders in the formal gardens and there is also a cut flower display in the lawn marquees of all the new and classic varieties featured in the show.
Set in the countryside at the entrance to Wensleydale, this extensive garden is surrounded by 18th century parkland with a superb John Carr house, not open to the public. There is an atmosphere of peace and tranquility in this romantic garden which makes it a delight for garden enthusiasts.
Tulip Festival tickets are £5 per person, and children are free.
The gardens will be open from 10am to 5pm daily. Sweet and savoury treats will be served in the lawn marquees and there also experts on hand from the Wakefield Tulip Society and Bloms Bulbs to advise on every aspect of gardens and tulips.
There are some artisan stalls and children's games. Wheelchair access is good throughout the gardens and dogs are welcome on leads.
