Protesters began their cycle at 7.30am at Central Station and were heading towards the Gateshead Civic Centre.

Activists staged a disruptive ‘die-in demonstration’ at Grey’s Monument in Newcastle city centre on Wednesday and are due to stage mock funeral services on the streets of Durham to 'mourn the loss of species, humans and the planet' tomorrow.
