POLICE are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a crash which led to the death of a woman.

The accident happened on the A66 at the junction with Kirby Hill, Richmondshire, North Yorkshire.

The collision occurred at 9.45am on Friday, March 22, and involved a red VW Touran, which was foreign-registered, and a red Scania lorry.

One of the occupants of the VW, a woman in her 50s, died following the collision. The other occupant was seriously injured.

Anyone who was travelling on the A66 and saw the collision, or the manner of driving of a foreign-registered VW or a red Scania, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
