A HISTORIC drama club is moving with the times by going digital.

Those wishing to see productions by Gainford Drama Club, in Gainford, Teesdale, will now be able to book their tickets online.

The club celebrates its 70th anniversary this year with the first production put on in 1949, at the Academy Theatre, in Gainford.

The theatre has had two refurbishments using Darlington Civic Theatres seats and was once the site of a school attended by Stan Laurel.

Members have been working on their latest production, Party Piece, by Richard Harris, which will be performed by special arrangement with Samuel French, on April 3 to 6 and April 10 to 13.

A matinee performance will be held on April 6, at 2pm and all other performances start at 7.30pm. Funds raised on April 5 will be donated to Gainford Village Hall.

Tickets cost £8.
