A GALLERY is launching a creative project to bring the community together.
Greenfield Arts in Newton Aycliffe will hold an exhibition inspired by pitman painter Norman Cornish.
The art venue and their men’s cree group have been working with artists, practitioners and the wider community to explore this idea of community.
They have enlisted the help of artists Laura Degnan and Elaine Vizor to create work inspired by the everyday.
The exhibition will honour the Spennymoor painter who focused on the people and places around him.
The pair have created a piece of art from spoken and written word, which will be displayed alongside a photo montage temporarily situated at Beamish Museum.
This will be the first part of a programme at Greenfield Arts encouraging people to share their experiences of community.
There will be a celebration of the work on Wednesday, May 1, at Greenfield Arts.
