MOUNTAIN rescue volunteers helped carry an injured horse rider half a kilometre among forestry tracks to a waiting ambulance.
The 42-year-old Loftus man fell from his horse at about 2.30pm on Monday, near to Grinkle Park, on the North York Moors near Saltburn.
Cleveland Mountain Rescue volunteers were called out by the ambulance service to help carry the man the 500 metres to the road from the remote location.
A spokesman for CMRT said: "Fifteen team members responded to the incident and were able to reach the injured man in one of their Landrover ambulances.
"After treatment by an ambulance service paramedic he was carried on a mountain rescue team stretcher to our Landrover and transported to the ambulance."
The incident is the team's fifth since Friday and its tenth callout this year.
