DUSTERS are out in force at Castle Howard as the stately home's 301 rooms and 59 staircases are undergoing a major spring clean for the season ahead.
A total of 8,640 hours are allocated each year to clean the grand home which includes 846 square meters of floors to wax and buff, using 350 liters of wax.
Not to mention the 3,001 window panes and 897 steps that need cleaning and the estimated 2,080kg of dust that gets hoovered up every year
The grounds of the stately home including the woodlands, adventure playground and gardens remain open to the public daily, but before the house re-opens on March 30, the estate's team take a few weeks to carefully deep clean the historic building.
