A DARLINGTON man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
The charge is in connection with an incident in which a 72-year-old woman died and a 64-year-old man was seriously injured.
Adam Burnside, 45, of Garrick Court, Darlington, has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
He appeared before Teesside Crown Court via videolink for a directions hearing and a date for the next court appearance is still to be set.
It is understood she fell ill at around the same time as the 64-year-old man was stabbed and seriously injured at the house.
Mr Burnside was remanded in custody.
