POLICE have issued a warning to social media users following confirmation that a body found in the River Tees on Monday is that of missing Luke Jobson.
Luke went missing in the early hours of Saturday morning after a night out in Yarm, Teesside.
They confirmed the identity on Tuesday.
Five people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
Now, Cleveland Police have issued the following warning to the public: "Please Think Before You Post!"
"Officers continue to support Luke’s family as they come to terms with the tragic news that his body was found yesterday after he went missing in Yarm at the weekend," a spokesperson wrote on the force's Facebook page.
"We appreciate that emotions are running high and that people want to show their support for Luke’s family and friends, but we would warn social media users that now that arrests have been made, speculating and commenting online about what might have happened - or the actions of specific individuals - could seriously jeopardise any potential court case."
