A FATHER was taken to hospital with facial injuries after being punched by a group of men, police have reported.
The man was picking up his daughter after she spent a night out in Darlington town centre on Friday, November 30, and into the early hours of Saturday, December 1.
The man reported that he noticed his daughter was having an argument with a group of men outside Number One Bar, on the corner of Skinnergate and Blackwellgate.
A Darlington Police spokesman said: “The victim left his vehicle to intervene and in doing so was punched to the face several times.
“The group then made off in an unknown direction whilst the victim was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital with facial injuries.
“Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward, please call us with information on 101 quoting reference number 45 of December 1.”
