A POPULAR what's on guide for a market town has been saved thanks to two women who have pledged to carry on the good work of the guide's predecessor.
Liz Graves, who runs Mocha Chocolate Shop, and Carol Watson from Castle Hill Bookshop, have taken over the organisation of Richmond’s events publication, What’s On.
Established in 2005 as part of the Richmond Swale Valley Community Initiative by Gillian Howells, run for the last 15 years by volunteer, Doug Waugh until his retirement last month and designed by local artist, Andy Thursfield, the publication will continue to be free and available every two months from March.
Ms Watson said: "Liz and I are both members of the town's business association and volunteered to take over when Doug retired.
"We have different strengths and work well together – we are excited to get started and have already signed up new advertisers and events."
