CHILDREN at a North Yorkshire Primary School have been celebrating after Ofsted inspectors rated their school good to outstanding.
Youngsters at Bedale C of E Primary school came back after the holidays to news that their school had been graded outstanding for Early Years provision, personal development, behaviour and welfare and good overall.
Headteacher Elizabeth Turnbull said she couldn't be more proud and they are delighted with the report which reflects the hard work and dedication of staff, pupils and governors at the school which consistently exceeds national expectations.
Inspectors noted lessons were planned to engage and interest the youngsters while also making them challenging.
They concluded: "The headteacher works with determination. Pupils behaviour is exemplary and flourishes in the positive climate created by leaders and staff which meant pupils enjoy coming to school."
Chair of Governors Kate Loughlin said; "I am delighted the pupils excellent behaviour is reflected in this report."
