FARMERS will be able to get timely tips on eking out silage stocks at the Dairy-Tech Event at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on Wednesday, February 6.

Volac says stretching out dwindling grass silage stocks can be expensive if relying heavily on alternative feed sources, but including a high-quality rumen-protected fat can help meet cow energy demands. The company will be promoting Mega-Max its latest addition to its Megalac range of protected fat products,

Combining a specific blend of fat types, Mega-Max has been designed to offer improvements in milk yield, milk fat, fertility and body condition, but with the convenience of being able to feed a single protected fat product throughout the lactation.

Meanwhile, Ecosyl experts will also be on hand to offer timely advice. This will include tips not only for stretching out this winter’s silage by minimising wastage, but also for boosting the quantity and quality of next season’s silage, whether making multi-cut grass silage or taking a traditional number of cuts.

Visitors to the Volac stand will also be able to discuss practical calf rearing advice and computerised feeding, as well as hear more about the Lifeguard milk formula range.

Based on concentrated whey protein, which makes up the majority of the protein fraction of natural cow colostrum, the new milk formulas are packed with the vital amino acids and immunoglobulins so necessary for healthy youngstock growth and development.
