BOSSES at a care home in Darlington said they felt "very proud" after it was rated as good overall by the Care Quality Commission.

Riverside View, on Hutton Avenue in Darlington, was also rated as good against all of the core inspection themes of being safe, being caring, providing effective care, being responsive to residents’ needs and well-led.

The inspectors said that people living in the home, which is run by Four Seasons Health Care, felt safe and were looked after by a team who were kind and caring and who treated them with respect for their dignity. There were warm and friendly relationships between staff and residents.

The home provides care for older people some of whom have dementia care needs, as well as respite care to give family carers a break and intermediate care as an alternative to hospital stay.

Marjorie Condacos, regional managing director for Four Seasons Health Care, said: “I am very proud of the team at Riverside View for their dedication to people in their care.

" Such a good CQC inspection outcome and such positive comments from residents and relatives can only be achieved by an enthusiastic and professional team.”
