A REFINED older lady is hoping to find a home and hugs in time for her 12th birthday.

Jess, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was originally taken in by canine carers at Dogs Trust Darlington’s Sadberge centre in February 2018 after being found as a stray.

Since then, she has been in two homes, but has unfortunately found her way back to the centre and was recently fostered as part of the Dogs Trust’s Home From Home programme.

The puppy at heart is one of around 80 dogs currently in care at the Sadberge rehoming centre.

A Dogs Trust spokesman said: “Jess loves human company and getting lots of hugs. She enjoys her food, especially tasty treats like a little piece of cheese.

“Although she is a more mature lady, Jess still has bags of energy. Her favourite toys are balls and she loves a good game of tug when the mood takes her.

“Jess is very good on walks although she can be a bit wary of other dogs so would need to wear a muzzle. She would like to live in a home where she will be the only pet and can soak up all the attention for herself.”
