A TEENAGER has denied assault and having a knife in public and will stand trial later this year.
Callum Quinn pleaded not guilty to wounding another man with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and having an article with a blade or point in Studley Road, Middlesbrough, when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court yesterday.
The 18-year-old, of Acklam Road, Middlesbrough, was given bail by Judge Stephen Ashurst until his trial is held on May 15.
Prosecutor Emma Atkinson told the court that the trial will last two to three days.
Mr Quinn is alleged to have committed the offences on July 6 last year.
The court heard that the issues in the trial are to be that Mr Quinn was acting in self-defence and was in fear of an imminent attack.
