A SUCCESSFUL farm shop has been shortlisted for a national award's final.

Hutchinson Hobbs Farm Shop in Yarm is in the running for a prize after impressing judges from the Farm Retail Association (FRA).

The company said: “We are so pleased to have got this far, well done to all our lovely staff for all your hard work ans dedication & to all our loyal customers for your continued support.

"This is a great honour as the judges look at farm shops nationwide so to be shortlisted is amazing. We are still a fairly new farm shop, having been going for three and a half years now so to be a finalist for this prestigious award makes all our hard work worthwhile.”

David Leon, from the FRA, said the standard of entry was very high across the categories, which include local farm shops, farmers’ market and Pick Your Own farms from around the country.

He said: "The judges had a difficult job and Hutchinson Hobbs farm shop should be justly proud to be named as one of the finalists.

"They will now go forward to the second round which includes a secret shopper visit and a further round of judging to determine the overall winner in each category.”

The winners will be announced at the Awards dinner as part of the Farm Retail Association’s Annual Conference and Trade Show on Tuesday, February 26 in Oxford.
