WENSLEYDALE-BASED Brymor of Masham is expanding its family of local produce with the launch of a range of spirits.

Brymor of Masham gin, vodka and rum have all been created with botanicals and flavours to reflect the natural environment and to potentially compliment the firm’s award-winning range of ice cream.

London Dry Gin is infused with fresh apple, clover and bilberries to create a quintessential Yorkshire taste, Golden Rum has the unmistakeable warmth of vanilla and caramel and the 100% Grain Vodka is a smooth and fruity blend of grain vodka and crisp fresh apples.

Brymor’s Managing Director Paul Hodgson said: “Pairing ice cream with spirits is a growing trend and we were keen to create a high-quality range that can either be served with our ice cream or enjoyed as a traditional tipple.”

The blends and botanicals have been selected to accompany the ice cream and make an ultimate grown-up’s cocktail, to add a twist to an ice cream dessert or to enjoy in the usual way.

The firm’s website includes cocktail and dessert recipes which combine different ice creams with spirits and there are ice cream sundaes with spirits on the menu at The Parlour at High Jervaulx Farm.

Brymor has been creating ice cream in Wensleydale since 1984; there are 25 flavours of ice cream and clotted cream, made from its herd of pedigree Guernsey cows. The firm also makes Yorkshire Ice Cream, an everyday range for regional supermarkets. Brymor Spirits are available at its ice cream parlour near Masham.
