TONIGHT’S the night to celebrate the most inspiring grassroots sports stars in the North-East and North Yorkshire with the 19th annual Local Heroes Awards.
The ceremony honours talented athletes, coaches and volunteers of all ages and in all sports who have made an outstanding contribution or achieved exceptional sporting success this year.
A host of famous faces will be supporting the awards tonight at the Grand Marquee at Wynyard Hall, with guests arriving from 6pm. The Northern Echo will have live coverage of the event this evening, followed by a full Local Heroes souvenir supplement in Saturday’s paper for £1.20.
The Local Heroes 2018 ceremony is sponsored by Cummins. Awards are sponsored by Tees Active, Northumbrian Water, Durham Animal Feeds Ltd., Avant Homes, Fine & Country with Robinsons Estate Agents, Virgin Money, CA Group Ltd., Darlington Building Society and BMI Woodlands Hospital.
