A PORK pie manufacturer based in Northallerton is celebrating its 90th birthday this month.
Vale of Mowbray started out as a brewery in 1795 and has been baking pork pies since 1928.
The company began supplying Asda stores nationwide in 2015 and since then, Vale of Mowbray has sold 3.2 million pies with Asda – enough to stretch all the way from York to Cambridge if they were laid side-by-side.
Richard Brown, head of brand at Vale of Mowbray, said: “90 years is a huge achievement and we are incredibly proud of the whole team, past and present, for having reached this milestone.
"Here’s to many more years of quality pork pies!”
