HAWES Artist Stacey Moore has created a special artwork commemorating the First World War to help raise charity funds.

Her coloured pencil drawing, One Hundred Poppies, marks the 100 years since the end of the Great War.

The artist is selling 100 framed limited edition prints at £100, with £10 of every sale being donated to the Royal British Legion. The commemorative piece features 100 poppies, with one of the flowers striving poignantly to the light in the sky.

Ms Moore said: “This is such a significant occasion that I really wanted to produce a piece of artwork that not only marks the occasion but moves the viewer. I feel this is one of my most powerful pieces of work.”

The self-taught artist known for her depictions of Yorkshire’s farm animals and wildlife and has exhibited nationally.

In 2017 she was identified as one of Yorkshire’s leading wildlife artists and this year she was named as a finalist in the New Starter Business category in the Yorkshire Choice Awards.

Her limited edition commemorative drawing is available to buy from the Moore Art Gallery in Hawes or via the website staceymooreart.com.
