RENOWNED conductor and pianist Janusz Piotrowicz is to give a concert at the Princess Alexandria Auditorium in Yarm in aid of charities providing humanitarian relief around the world.

His Chopin programme includes nocturnes, mazurkas, waltzes, preludes, Berceuse and the Liszt-Horowitz Funérailles homage to the composer.

Piotrowicz is the International Chopin Competition Prizewinner whose performances are renowned for clarity and intensity and unique depth of sound.

He has toured in in Europe, Canada and the US, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa as well as throughout the UK, receiving the highest critical acclaim.

He is also founder and conductor of L’Orchestre du Monde and well-known in North Yorkshire as the artistic director of Ripon International Festival, now in its 21st year.

Proceeds from the concert on Saturday, November 10, will be shared between the World Trust, a charity he founded, and the Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust.

HART was founded by Baroness Cox to provide aid and advocacy for some of the worlds most oppressed and neglected communities. It has given more than £4.5m in aid via local partners so that help goes directly to those in need. The World Trust has made more than 50 donations in 40 countries from Pietrowicz's concerts.
