The tower under construction in Bishop Auckland
WHAT a pity the Bishop Auckland replica siege tower isn’t more authentic (Echo, Oct 17).
If it had been mounted on wheels, the people of Bishop could have re-enacted a version of the 1925 Miners Gala incident by dragging it out of town and shoving it in the Wear instead of the bishop.
