SINGERS are invited to ROS headquarters in Bargate, Richmond, on Wednesday evenings, when the newly reformed ROSCo rehearses.

After a lapse of several years, the concert choir has been reformed under the baton of its musical director John Hunter.

He said: “Our repertoire focuses on music from stage and screen, but with a little jazz and light classics thrown in for good measure – and some vocal technique and musical theory help as required."

The operatic society is working on a full-scale stage musical, the Nativity Saga, for November and plans to produce Sister Act next spring.

The ROSCo chorus also sings as a concert choir in four-part harmony to promote the society and raise money for local charities. It already has several bookings for Christmas, but any keen singers aged 16 and above are welcome.

“While we have lots of fun at the rehearsals we are working towards as professional a sound as we can manage,” said Mr Hunter, “so all singers would benefit from attending."

Rehearsals are held every Wednesday (except October 31). For more information visit Richmond Operatic Society's Facebook page or telephone 07732 122817.
