CATTERICK. – Last week, members enjoyed a tour of Bainbridge Vets Practice. A big thank you to the team for a very informative meeting and the excellent refreshments. Next week’s meeting is a talk about commercial free range laying hens at Hackforth Village Hall. Meet there ready to start for 7.30pm. Also, Wednesday is our charity stockjudging evening in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance at Northallerton Auction Mart to start at 7pm. Everyone is welcome – it would be great to see lots of members’ family and friends there!

ELWICK. – This week's meeting was a speaking practice. Members went through the speaking competitions and what they had to do for them. Next week's meeting is a talk by Butterwick Hospice and presentation of a cheque for the money we have raised for them. Meet in the WI Hall, Elwick, at 7.30pm. We are hosting our 85th Anniversary Black Tie Ball on Saturday, November 24, at Bowburn Hall Hotel. Tickets are £25 for a sit-down two-course meal. GREAT SMEATON. – Last week's meeting was a panel evening. This week's meeting is a visit to Low Grange Quarry. Next week's meeting is a talk by Barclays Bank.

INGLEBY. – This week's meeting was a talk by one of our past members Duncan Roy, who spoke to us about his previous world record-setting rowing exhibitions and also his upcoming challenge row4victory. Next week's meeting is jump 360 at Stockton; meet at the cross at 6.20pm.

NORTHALLERTON. – Tonight’s meeting enjoyed a practice of public speaking. Next week's meeting is a committee meeting. Meet at Northallerton Auction Mart on Monday at 7.30pm.

STAINDROP. – This week's meeting was a visit to the Emergency Services at Barnard Castle. We were given a tour of the building where the fire, police and ambulance services are located and were shown around a fire engine. We also were shown where the fire fighters train and used one of the water hoses. Thank you for showing us around and giving us a very enjoyable and interesting talk. Next week's meeting is the AGM at Winston Village Hall. Be there at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

THIRSK. – Last week, members had a business meeting and discussed the programme and Big Bash event. Members wish Jed Reed safe travels as he goes off for six months. The Big Bash is on Saturday, October 20.

WENSLEYDALE. – This week's meeting was a pub quiz and it was great to see a load of new faces attending and signing on. The next meeting will be handing money over to last year's charity, The Robert Dent Memorial Fund. The next meeting is on Monday, October 22, at Carlton Village Hall at 7.30pm.
