THE Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland will be holding a civic service at the weekend and is calling on the community to attend the event.
Councillor Dennis Teasdale will be in Saint Helen’s Parish Church, Rockcliffe View, Carlin How, east Cleveland, where he will give a reading from the Gospel according to Saint John before young classical singer Charlotte Potter sings ‘Ave Maria’ and ‘My Heart is Like a Singing Bird’. Also performing two songs at the Service is the Marske Fishermen’s Choir.
After the service, which starts at 3pm on Sunday, there will be afternoon tea in the church and time to have a chat with those attending, including the Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Major Wharton.
Cllr Dennis Teasdale, who represents the Guisborough ward, said: “It is a privilege to hold my Civic Service at St Helen’s, especially at such an important event as Harvest Festival Sunday.
The event is open to the public and I would encourage anyone who would like to give thanks to come along to Saint Helen’s Parish Church.”
