Flat burglary

A FLAT under construction in Northallerton was burgled and police are appealing for information. The premises, on Ben Hyde Way, was broken into some time over the weekend of September 21. If anyone has any information or saw any suspicious activity in the area they should tell the police on 101.

Hospitality nod

THE head housekeeper at a Helmsley hotel has been named runner-up in the prestigious AA Hospitality Awards. Alison Richardson, of the Black Swan Hotel in Helmsley, was recognised for her 31-years of service at the four-star hotel, having risen through the ranks from chambermaid to head housekeeper.

Watermill open

CRAKEHALL Watermill is holding an open day this Sunday, October 7. The mill, in Little Crakehall, Bedale, will be open between noon and 4pm and admission is £4 for adults and free for under 15s who must be accompanied by an adult.

Special market

THERE will be live music, extra stalls and special events at Masham Market this weekend. Events will run throughout both Saturday and Sunday in the town centre.

A SPIRITUAL Fair with Tarot reading, mediumship and crystals is taking place at Thirsk and Sowerby Town Hall this Saturday, October 6 from 2pm to 4pm.

History talk
