BEDALE residents are being asked for their views on proposals for managing air pollution levels in the town.

The action comes following the declaration of the Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) last November.

Hambleton District Council has prepared an Air Quality Action Plan as part of its statutory duties required by the Local Air Quality Management framework.

In August 2016 the new A684 Bedale bypass was opened to relieve traffic congestion and pollution levels in Bedale, Aiskew and Leeming Bar.

The council is confident that it has produced the desired reduction in pollution concentrations and will continue to do so. Air quality monitoring will continue to provide data on air quality.

The draft action plan is available at hambleton.gov.uk and comments can be submitted via ehts@hambleton.gov.uk
