NOMINATIONS are being taken now for The Northern Farmer Awards 2019.

The agricultural magazine – sister publication of the Darlington & Stockton times – is seeking to honour the achievements of progressively-minded people who are taking farming forward and who go the extra mile every day in their work.

There are categories across the spectrum of agriculture for arable, beef, dairy, and sheep farmer of the year, plus farm manager, diversification, family-run farm, outstanding achievement and young farmer.

These accolades are not only aimed at highlighting the good work done by individuals within the industry, but at showcasing the many positive ways that farming is responding to a rapidly-changing world.

The finalists will get their turn in the limelight at a glittering awards ceremony, held at Pavilions of Harrogate, when short video films will be shown starring all of the shortlisted ventures.

Before that, short articles and pictures of those of the awards shortlist will have appeared in the magazine.

And all the finalists will be in the running for the overall title of Northern Farmer of the Year 2019, which will be voted on by an expert judging panel in a secret ballot.

The deadline for entries is Friday, September 21.
